NuLu

Hope all is well. The semester is coming to a end and if you’re going to be in Louisville this summer this post might interest you. I went to an event called trolly hop a couple weekends ago and couldn’t believe how much fun I had. The First Friday Trolley Hop is an art show, tourist attraction, street party and celebration of downtown Louisville that brings new visitors and new life to the Main and Market streets. The Trolley Hop takes place on the first Friday of each month from 5-11pm, rain or shine. Most of the galleries close around 9 pm but the restaurants, clubs, and shops stay open later and the trolleys runs to about 11 pm. I went with a friend who was looking for art and ended up seeing a lot of old friends, cool art, free wine tastings, took funny photos, caught live music and had free food. This event takes place in a new part of town called “NuLu”. The East Market District, also referred to as NuLu, is now best known for its art galleries, specialty stores, antique shops and a growing number of local, upscale restaurants. The term “NuLu” is a portmanteau meaning “New Louisville”. As home to two LEED® certified commercial buildings, many historic restoration projects, as well as several restaurants offering organic and locally sourced ingredients, NuLu has emerged with a culture of sustainability. Visit http://www.eastmarketdistrict.com for more information. I hope this interests you and you go explore the “Nu” part of the city. Peace. ✌
